Excellent for food, friendly staff, decoration may not be the best but when it comes to service and what's on the plate it's great.

Had to drop my review down, seems they have switched gears or something. Recipe changed for my favorite item the Pollo el Diablo, beans and rice we're now bland, salsa seemed so-so, and the tortillas no longer appear to be homemade . Depressing as I thought I had a semi authentic place near my house, but as it is  I am no longer stoked to go here.

Hey all you SoCal transplants, we have been here 16 years, and have found very few places that satisfied our Mexican food obsession...until recently.  We LOVE Los Nietos! There are a few places on Nolensville Rd that have been good, but this place in East Nashville is the best so far.
We started going for lunch and discovered a gem. The food is fantastic.  They have real homestyle refried beans that haven't been pureed to the point that there is no texture left.  Their sauces are flavorful, and...get this...the food is HOT.  They cook the food long enough so it comes out steaming, and downright gooey and savory like it is meant to be.
The service is great, and if you really want to be entertained on a weekend night, this is the place to go.  They have a young gentleman who plays not only some fantastic mariachi music, but also some classic American stuff as well.
I would suggest their Carne Asada, the Sopa de Pollo, and their enchiladas.  The only thing I wish they had, is homemade corn tortillas.  But the food is so good, I can overlook that. The seafood is terrific too.  Honestly, I don't think I have ever ordered anything I didn't like.  Stick to their specialties though, and you won't be disappointed.
If you know what is good for you, try this amazing little hole-in-the-wall!

Thanks to Johnny T I tried this little place and I am so glad that I did. Best guacamole dip I have ever had and the margarita was delicious!!

I did not have time to eat a meal but I will definitely be back and I can't wait to try something new, I know it will be great!

The service was good as well!

A great authentic Mexican restaurant, small but quaint with a full bar and Dos Equis Amber on draft.  If your looking for a great real Mexican restaurant this is the place.
